Alex Jones shares health update after her son Kit, four, was hospitalised to undergo surgery
Alex Jones has opened up about her youngest son's health scare after he was hospitalised this week to undergo surgery.
The One Show host revealed that her son Kit, four, had been in hospital for a little operation on Thursday morning as she shared a picture of him reading a book as he seemed to be making a quick recovery.
While the presenter, 47 didn't disclose the details of Kit's condition, she confirmed he had had the operation at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.
Sharing her gratitude for the staff there she wrote: 'Kit has been in for a little op this morning. Firstly, a HUGE thank [you] to the wonderfully kind nurses and doctors @chelwestft.
'Simply the best for paediatric, and also to @mykidsgoodreads. Kit chose a book which cheered him right up.'

Alex also shared a snap of someone who works for the Read For Good charity, as she explained: '@readforgood is a wonderful charity that offer children in hospital a much appreciated book to read.
'Most of the money is raised by school children. Amazing!'
Alex shares Kit and her other two children Teddy, seven, and daughter Annie, two with her husband Charlie Thomson, who she tied the knot with in 2015.
Earlier this month, Alex wowed as she channelled her inner Baywatch babe in a red swimsuit during a family holiday to Lanzarote.
The star shared a glimpse into her getaway with her family as she emerged from the sea in the dark red form-fitting swimsuit.
She shielded her eyes from the sun behind a pair of black sunglasses as she beamed at the camera.
In another photo, Alex was all smiles as she tucked a blue shirt into a pair of denim shorts while playing on the beach with Kit.
She wrote: 'Feel so lucky to have enjoyed some sunny weather together in Lanzarote over Easter.

'It is such a brilliant island for young children. Everything is very easy but there is also plenty to do to keep all ages occupied.
'We stayed at a lovely villa that was very reasonable and had everything you need and more that we found on @vrbo and I’m sure the lovely owner, Helen will add a link if she sees this.'
It was a happy family occasion after Charlie recently overcame a series of mental and physical health woes.
In 2023, Alex revealed that Charlie had become a 'shadow of himself' as he battled with his mental health, and she said she watched him 'fall apart' after becoming seriously ill with Lyme Disease and viral meningitis.
Alex said in a podcast appearance: 'I think what drives me is the fact that we have got three young children, and I feel, for them, I need to do the best to preserve myself.
'Mum and dad have always been healthy, growing up we've always eaten a balanced diet, but more so, Charlie and I are focused on that.'
Asked how he was doing now, Alex replied: 'He's good, yes. He's in a way better place now to where we were a year ago but diet has played a huge part in that. We always eat relatively well but he's quite into nutrition.
Alex revealed she struggled to understand Charlie's mental health battle and has been honest with him in lengthy conversations.
She said: 'He tries to explain it, and I said "Do you think I'm a terrible person because I don't quite get it?"
'And he says "No, but because you're trying to get it, I love you for that". But he said it is hard to fully understand it.'
Alex went on: 'I listen to lots of podcasts where depression is discussed at length. And some of the time I feel if you're really depressed - and I 've seen it in the last few months - you're not alright enough to be on a podcast. And I'm confused as to where we are.
'You feel the pressure because suddenly you're the breadwinner, you're the parent who is functioning.
'Just life admin is now your responsibility, plus the person you love most is falling apart in front of you and you're trying to piece them together without proper understanding of how best to go about that.'
'I wouldn't go into detail because Charlie's super private, but I think it's worth sharing because it knocks you for six as a family - not just the person going through it, but the person that then has to deal with the fall out of the whole thing. It's full on.'
